QUARTERBACKS-RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Untitledbrees

Drew Brees, San Diego Chargers Vs Kansas City Chiefs
Brees had his best game of the season in Week 7 against the Philadelphia Eagles. Brees was able to throw for 299 yards and 2 TDs against a stingy Philly defense. The Chiefs are susceptible to games where they give up a huge chunk of passing yards. So far this season, the Kansas City secondary has allowed QB Donovan McNabb to pass for 369 yards and 3 TDs (Week 4) and QB Mark Brunell to throw for 331 yards and 3TDs (Week 6).

According to the doc’s medical records, Brees had healthy stats last season. In Week 8, Brees will return to last year’s form.

Untitledculpepper11

Daunte Culpepper, Minnesota Vikings at Carolina Panthers
Culpepper has had two quality games this year. In Week 3 and Week 7, Culpepper racked up a combined 580 yards passing, while throwing for 5 TDs versus 0 INTs. The rest of the games, Culpepper has thrown for 12 INTs versus only 1 TD. In Week 5, the Panthers pass defense was annihliated by QB Josh McCown to the tune of 394 yards and 2 TDs.

The doc has cured Culpepper … at least for this week.

OTHER RECOMMENDED QUARTERBACKS BY DR U

Mark Brunell-Washington Redskins at New York Giants

Brett Favre-Green Bay Packers at Cincinnati Bengals

Kerry Collins-Oakland Raiders at Tennessee Titans

Tom Brady- New England Patriots Vs Buffalo Bills

QUARTERBACKS-NOT RECOMENNDED BY DR U

Eli Manning, New York Giants Vs Washington Redskins

Over the last three games, the Redskins secondary is allowing an average of just 122 passing yards and less than 1 TD per game. Eli is a becoming a great quarterback before our eyes, but you might want to eye an alternative quarterback this week for fantasy.

Key Injuries

The Doc would like to report two key casualties this week. Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green and Detroit Lions WR Kevin Johnson have been placed on Injured Reserve and will both be on the shelf for the rest of the year. Below is the long laundry list of other key injuries .

RB Corey Dillion-New England Patriots-QUESTIONABLE (ankle)-Dillion will be a gametime decision. The Doc would tell you more, but Coach Belichick does not want fantasy owners to have time to prepare.

QB Tom Brady-New England Patriots-PROBABLE (shoulder)-He will start!

RB Thomas Jones-Chicago Bears-PROBABLE (knee)- Thomas Jones was actually injured back in Week 5. He played last week and should be able to tough it out this week as well.

RB Rudi Johnson-Cincinnati Bengals-PROBABLE (knee)-Rudi is practicing and should be good-to-go.

RB Julius Jones-Dallas Cowboys-QUESTIONABLE (ankle)-Julius has not been able to make it through a full practice and Dallas has a Bye in Week 9. J Squared will likely miss his third straight game.

QB Jake Plummer-Denver Broncos-PROBABLE (shoulder)-Plummer has been practicing all week. In other words, Jake "the snake" will slither his way into his normal starting role.

RB Fred Taylor-Jacksonville Jaguars-PROBABLE (ankle)-Taylor has proclaimed himself to be the starter this week.

WR Joe Horn-New Orleans Saints-QUESTIONABLE (hamstring)-This is another gametime decision. Saints are thin at receiver. Therefore, Horn might try to play.

WR Plaxico Burress-New York Giants-QUESTIONABLE (shoulder)-Burress has been held out of parts of practice this week. He wants to play, but this is a player you will want to monitor as the week progresses.

WR Randy Moss-Oakland Raiders-QUESTIONABLE (groin)-The Doc refuses to research the status of Moss. In Week 7, he was declared out moments before kickoff. Next thing you know, he was catching a touchdown pass. Moss should find a way to play.

QB Donovan McNabb-Philadelphia Eagles-PROBABLE(sports hernia)-McNabb is another player the Doc is refusing to research. McNabb would play whether his arms were broken, or if he was comatose. He will start!

WR Terrell Owens-Philadelphia Eagles-PROBABLE (shoulder)-Is T.O. really hurt or is he just finding a way to get his name in the paper? In all seriousness, Owens should make the start.

WR Hines Ward-Pittsburgh Steelers-PROBABLE (hamstring)-Ward has been practicing and should be just fine.

PK Nate Kaeding-Sand Diego Chargers-QUESTIONABLE (back)-This is a tough kicker from Iowa, all signs point to him being able to play.

QB Marc Bulger-St. Louis Rams-DOUBTFUL (shoulder)-Bulger was recently downgraded to doubtfull this week and is not expected to play.

WR Isaac Bruce-St Louis Rams-DOUBTFUL (toe)-Bruce’s report mirrors Bulger’s and the tandem are expected to be inactive.

RB Carnell Williams-Tampa Bay Buccaneers- QUESTIONABLE (foot/hamstring)-If Williams has any say in this, the wheels of the Cadillac should go round-and-round this week. Although, at this point, he is listed as a gametime decision.

Aaronbrooks_end_1

In Week 7, the New Orleans Saints marched out to a 14-0 first quarter lead against the St. Louis Rams. With just one minute to play, the Dallas Cowboys had the Seattle Seahawks shut down, leading 10-3. After the quick start, the Saints fizzled and were outscored the rest of the way, losing to the Rams, 28-17. Meanwhile, Seattle scored twice in the final minute to send Dallas home with a 13-10 loss. The Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals also ignored the doctor’s picks and decided to lose. If these choke artists keep blowing games, DR U is going to get sued for malpractice! However, even with the aforementioned setbacks, the doc still finished with a humble 8-4 record in Week 7.

DR U Last Week’s Record- 8-4

DR U Overall Record- 25-15

QUARTERBACKS-RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Eli Manning, New York Giants Vs Denver Broncos

Over the last three games, Manning has seven touchdown passes versus only one interception. He is also averaging nearly 288 passing yards in those three contests. The Broncos pass defense has given up 299 yards to Tom Brady and 322 yards to Mark Brunell in their last two games.

Eli’s blood test shows that he comes from a great bloodline when it comes to quarterbacks, and this week Eli will be the more effective Manning.

Drew Bledsoe, Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks

In his last four games, Bledsoe is averaging a humble 294 yards and 1.75 touchdown passes per game. Seattle plays respectable defense, but they do have holes in their secondary. However, it takes a solid passing quarterback to find and exploit their weaknesses, ala Mark Bulger throwing for 336 yards against the Seahawks secondary in Week 5. Bledsoe is a superior passing quarterback and should have a solid week.

The doc says….Starting Bledsoe each Sunday keeps your fantasy opponents away.

QUARTERBACKS-NOT RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Drew Brees, San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles

Over his last two games, Brees is averaging a lackluster 191.5 yards passing per game. Philly is coming off a bye week and were beat down by the Dallas Cowboys the week prior. In other words, the Eagles will be entering the game with a huge chip on their shoulder, and Brees might not make it out of Philadelphia in one piece.

Brees is not off to a healthy start this season and their will not be any progress this week.

Key Injuries

The doc has noticed that is that time a year where running backs are banged up. The following premier running backs are listed this week on the injured list:

Rudi Johnson-Cincinnati Bengals-PROBABLE (knee), Rudi will get the start.

Julius Jones-Dallas Cowboys-QUESTIONABLE (ankle), Coach Parcells won’t say until gametime. Jones has not been able to practice at full speed. He may have to sit out another week.

Kevin Jones-Detroit Lions-QUESTIONABLE (shoulder), Coach Mariucci has mentioned that Jones is getting closer, but he will likely be another gametime decision.

Ahman Green-Green Bay Packers-QUESTIONABLE (quadriceps/knee), Green has been practicing all week and should be good-to-go.

Larry Johnson-Kansas City Chiefs-PROBABLE (quadriceps), Johnson should be in the lineup in the re-scheduled Friday night game.

Curtis Martin-New York Jets-PROBABLE (knee), Martin should be available to play under the Monday Night Lights.

Clinton Portis-Washington Redskins-PROBABLE (calf), Portis says he is alright, when a player says that, they will play.
