2007 Fantasy Football Player Profile-Vince Young

QB Vince Young, Tennessee Titans

2006 Stats: 2199 passing yards, 552 rushing yards, 19 total TDs, 13 INTs
Projected 2007 Stats: 2787 passing yards, 777 rushing yards, 24 total TDs, 14 INTs
Projected Fantasy Round: 5th Round
Quarterbacks to be Picked ahead of Vince Young: Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Drew Brees, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why should you draft Vince Young: Vince Young finished last season with 12 passing touchdowns, and he was able to score using his legs seven times. Just the fact that Young was able to be that effective of a dual threat in his rookie season, proves that he is going to be a star in the NFL.  Even though Vince was not the starter for the entire season, he still racked up 2199 yards via the air and 552 yards on the ground.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Vince Young: Young is still learning the game, and several fantasy owners might try to take him a little too early in the draft.  In 2006, Young had four games where he threw multiple interceptions, and he coughed the ball up 12 times.  Furthermore, Young failed to pass for 250 yards or more in any single game, and he only eclipsed 200 passing yards in four contests.

Bottom Line: Young is a fantasy slot machine, he is a bit of a risk, but when you have him on your team, you could hit the jackpot at any time.  At this stage of his career, Young should be viewed as a lower tier No.1 Quarterback in fantasy.
