2008 DR U Fantasy Football Player Profile-Jeff Garcia

QB Jeff Garcia, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2007 Stats: 2440 passing yards, 14 total TDs, 4 INTs
Projected 2008 Stats: 2690 passing yards, 16 total TDs, 6 INTs
Projected Fantasy Round: Undrafted
Quarterbacks to be picked ahead of Jeff Garcia: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Jeff Garcia: Over the last two seasons, Garcia has had 24 total touchdowns versus only six interceptions.  In fact, Garcia did not throw a single pick until Week 8 in 2007.

Why you may want to stay away from Jeff Garcia: Garcia has yet to play a full season since 2002.  The Bucs are more of a run first team, which led to Garcia being held under 200 passing yards in eight contests.  In addition, there were four games where Garcia failed to throw a single touchdown.

Bottom Line: Garcia certainly protects the football well. However, since he doesn’t rack up huge passing numbers, and with his inability to play in all 16 games, he should be viewed as a serviceable Bye week replacement in fantasy.
