Fantasy Outlook:

Why you may want to draft David Garrard: Garrard takes care of the football as he did not throw his first pick until Week 13 in 2007.  In addition, Garrard ended the 2007 campaign by throwing for multiple scores in five out of his last six games.  If Jerry Porter can recover from his early hamstring injury, Garrard will have a new lethal weapon at his disposal, which could help shoot his fantasy numbers up in a hurry.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting David Garrard: Last season, Garrard only had three interceptions, but they occurred in three out of his last four games.  While efficient, Garrard doesn’t exactly rack up huge passing yards as he only threw for more than 250 yards on three occasions.  He also never was able to surpass 300 passing yards in any contest.

Bottom Line: Garrard is a serviceable fantasy quarterback, and he is on the fringe of being a solid No.1 starter.  Fantasy owners are hoping Garrard can pick up where he left off in 2007 and keep tossing multiple scores.  He is certainly capable of doing that, especially if Porter can get healthy.  Irregardless, Garrard presents great value as a mid-round draft pick.
