2008 Fantasy Football Player Profile-Julius Jones

RB Julius Jones, Seattle Seahawks

2007 Stats: 588 rushing yards, 203 receiving yards, 2 total TDs
Projected 2008 Stats: 1021 rushing yards, 299 receiving yards, 5 total TDs
Projected Fantasy Round: 3rd Round
Running backs to be picked ahead of Julius Jones: LaDainian Tomlinson, Adrian Peterson, Joseph Addai, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Julius Jones: If you throw out his numbers in 2007 where his carries were limited, Jones has averaged 965 rushing yards and over five touchdowns per season.  Jones has the ability to hit quadruple figures in rushing yards, and he can add some respectable numbers catching passes out of the backfield, which are attributes most fantasy owners are looking for in a running back.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Julius Jones: Last season, Jones never rushed for more than 66 rushing yards, and he was held scoreless in 14 games.  Jones has been able to stay relatively healthy the past two seasons, but his previous two years in the NFL, he was sidelined for a total of 11 games.

Bottom Line: Jones will be splitting carries with Maurice Morris and T.J. Duckett, and Duckett figures to be the back that gets the red zone carries.  Therefore, Jones should be viewed as a No.2 running back in fantasy, and the fourth or fifth round would be about the ideal time to draft him.
