2008 Fantasy Football Player Profile-T.J. Houshmandzadeh

WR T.J. Houshmandzadeh, Cincinnati Bengals

2007 Stats: 112 receptions, 1143 receiving yards, 12 TDs
Projected 2008 Stats: 101 receptions, 1111 receiving yards, 11 TDs
Projected Fantasy Round: 3rd Round
Wide Receivers to be picked ahead of T.J. Houshmandzadeh: Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Reggie Wayne, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft T.J. Houshmandzadeh: Over the last two seasons, Houshmandzadeh is averaging 101 receptions, 1112, and more than ten touchdowns.  Last season, there were only three games where he failed to have at least five receptions, and he scored a touchdown in ten contests.  He also had three games where he eclipsed 100 receiving yards, and he was able to have multiple touchdowns on two separate occasions.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting T.J. Houshmandzadeh: There is a chance that Chad Johnson might opt to sit out the season, which would mean Houshmandzadeh would see a lot more double coverage.  Therefore, his statistics would likely take a huge dip.  In addition, after Week 6, Houshmandzadeh failed to reach triple figures in receiving yardage the rest of the season (2007).

Bottom Line: Houshmandzadeh is emerging as one of the better receivers in the NFL.  If Chad Johnson continues to play along side him, then he should be viewed as a legitimate No. 1 wide receiver in fantasy.
