2008 Fantasy Football Player Profile-Vince Young

QB Vince Young, Tennessee Titans

2007 Stats: 2546 passing yards, 395 rushing yards, 12 total TDs, 17 INTs
Projected 2008 Stats: 2499 passing yards, 577 rushing yards, 17 total TDs, 17 INTs
Projected Fantasy Round: 9th Round
Quarterbacks to be picked ahead of Vince Young: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Vince Young: Young is a dual threat with his ability to put up big numbers in the passing game and in the running game.  For example, Young in 2007 had one game where he surpassed 300 passing yards, and he had three contests where he had more than 50 rushing yards.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Vince Young: For his career, Young has just 21 touchdown passes versus 30 interceptions.   Last season, Young was only able to throw for more than 200 passing yards four times, and he failed to pass for a single score in nine of his games.  In addition, Young had five weeks where he threw for multiple interceptions.

Bottom Line: Young had a miserable 2007 campaign, and he appears to lack confidence as there was some talk that he is already mentioning a possible early retirement.  Therefore, Young should not be viewed as anything more than a viable fantasy backup until he proves otherwise.
