QB Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
2007 Stats: 218 passing yards, 1 total TD, 0 INTs
Projected 2008 Stats: 2898 passing yards, 19 total TDs, 16 INTs
Projected Fantasy Round: 10th round
Quarterbacks to be picked ahead of Aaron Rodgers: Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, Tony Romo, etc.
Fantasy Outlook:
Why you should draft Aaron Rodgers: Rodgers will now be the starting quarterback on an already prolific offense. Since he played behind Brett Favre, Rodgers has seen very limited action in his career. However, when he stepped in for an injured Favre against the Dallas Cowboys in a playoff-type game, he was able to throw for 201 yards, one touchdown, and no interceptions.
Why you may want to stay away from drafting Aaron Rodgers: In his three year career, Rodgers has only appeared in seven games. In fact, he has only thrown 59 passes, which has translated into just one career touchdown.
Bottom Line: Rodgers is a risky fantasy pick as he hasn’t had the opportunity to prove what he can do in the NFL. Consequently, he should be viewed as more of fantasy backup until he proves otherwise.
