2008 NFL Free Agents-Julius Jones

RB Julius Jones, Seattle Seahawks

How Julius Jones will help the Seattle Seahawks: If the Seahawks decide to keep Shaun Alexander, he will now have some competition in the backfield with Jones and T.J. Duckett.  In his rookie campaign, Jones averaged over 102 yards and nearly one touchdown per game in eight contests.

However, the production of Jones has dropped significantly over the last few seasons.  Last season, he averaged under 40 yards per game, and he only had two touchdowns in 16 games.  That being said, Jones has the potential to be a featured back, and he proved that earlier in his career when he faced Seattle in a regular season game and torched them with 198 rushing yards and three touchdowns.

Fantasy Outlook: Jones will likely have to split carries again, but there is no reason to believe that he can’t flirt with 200 carries and over 800 rushing yards again this season.  He should get at least five or six scores too.
