Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Felix Jones:  As a rookie, Jones had his season cut short, due to injury.  However, he was still able to find the end zone three times at running back.   Look for Dallas to possibly utilize Jones in the “Wild Cat” formation this season, which would mean more touches and scoring chances for him. Last year, in the two games he was featured prior to his injury, he averaged just seven carries, yet was able to translate that into 86 yards per game.  He also had a touchdown in each contest.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Felix Jones: It is always hard to draft a player that was hurt the year before, especially when that player was a rookie.   Also, Jones failed to eclipse 100 rushing yards in 2008, and he is still the backup to Marion Barber III.

Bottom Line: Jones gives the Cowboys and fantasy owners the threat at running back that can take it the distance on any play.  Dallas figures to give Jones a lot of touches in 2009.  Consequently, he is a real nice value in the third round, and a steal in the fourth and beyond.
