RB Steve Slaton, Houston Texans

2008 Stats: 1282 rushing yards, 377 receiving yards, 10 total TDs
Projected 2009 Stats: 1498 rushing yards, 688 receiving yards, 12 total TDs
Projected Fantasy Round: 2nd Round
Running backs to be picked ahead of Steve Slaton Adrian Peterson, LaDainian Tomlinson, Michael Turner, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Steve Slaton:  As a rookie, Slaton racked up 1659 all-purpose yards and had ten total touchdowns.  Slaton eclipsed triple figure in rushing yards five times, including four out of his last seven games.  With his ability to run the ball and catch it out of the backfield, Slaton won’t make it out of the second round in most fantasy drafts.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Steve Slaton: In 2008, Slaton was held scoreless on the ground in nine contests.  He also was limited to 60 rushing yards or fewer in five games.

Bottom Line:  Slaton has emerged as a No. 1 fantasy running back, and should be viewed as a steal in the second round.
