Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Tony Romo: In his 13 games in 2008, Romo eclipsed 300 passing yards in six games, and he threw for three scores in six contests.  Over the last two seasons, Romo has averaged 3829 passing yards and 32 total touchdowns.  It is also worth noting that Romo has never had a season as a starter where his QB rating dipped below 90.0.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Tony Romo: Romo no longer has Terrell Owens and his disposal.  T.O. might be a distraction due to the media attention he draws, but it can’t be argued how productive he is at wideout.  Now Romo is faced with possibly not having a legitimate No.1 receiver to aid in boosting his fantasy numbers.  In addition, Romo has averaged over an interception per game his last two seasons.

Bottom Line: Romo will be a medium risk, high reward fantasy quarterback in 2009. Look for his numbers to dip a little without Owens, but he should still be viewed as an upper tier fantasy quarterback.
