2009 NFL Team Needs-Arizona Cardinals
Outside Linebacker: Chike Okefor and Bertrand Berry are getting older now. Therefore, the Cardinals need to bring in some young pass rushers that can put constant pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Running back: As of right now, Edgerrin James is still on Arizona’s roster. However, J.J. Arrington left town this off-season. Tim Hightower showed flashes last season, but is still unproven at this stage of his career. In other words, Cardinals will likely look to draft a running back at some point in the draft.
Center: Lyle Sendlein was over matched at times last season. Not to mention, the Cardinals don’t have much depth behind him. They could afford to bring in someone to compete with Sendlein.
Cornerback: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie has his side of the field locked down. Look for the Cardinals to bring in a young corner that can patrol the side opposite Rodgers-Cromartie.
Defensive End: As previously mentioned, Arizona needs to draft some young pass rushers. Don’t be surprised if the Cardinals take an outside linebacker and a defensive end, which are interchangeable parts in their defense.
Draft Candidates: LB Brian Cushing, USC, LB Tyrone McKenzie, South Florida, RB LeSean McCoy, Pittsburgh, RB Javon Ringer, Michigan State, C Eric Wood, Louisville, C Max Unger, Oregon, CB Sherrod Martin, Troy, CB Kevin Barnes, Maryland, DE Ian Campbell, Kansas State, DE Slade Norris, Oregon State
