2009 NFL Team Needs-Baltimore Ravens

Wide Receiver: Last season, Derrick Mason was the only receiver for Baltimore that hauled in at least 41 receptions. Furthermore, they clearly lack a reliable deep threat at wideout.  Look for the Ravens to address that need early in the draft.

Cornerback: Chris McAllister and Samari Rolle left town, which creates a huge hole in their secondary. Fabian Washington has the left side of the field covered, but they need to find a corner or two to protect the other side of the field.

Tight End: The Ravens have Todd Heap and L.J. Smith at the position, which may sound like someone’s fantasy roster. However, the aforementioned duo have trouble staying healthy.  Therefore, it might be time to bring in a young pass-catching tight end that can add some youth and durability to the position.

Offensive Tackle: The Ravens have some glaring needs at tackle, and they figure to try and bring in some more young talent to help keep Joe Flacco upright.

Fullback: Le’Ron McClain is about the only fullback that Ravens have on their roster.  However, they may want to move McClain over to tailback to be their short-yardage runner. Even if the don’t move him, they still need add some depth at fullback.

Draft Candidates: WR Hakeem Nicks, North Carolina, WR Kenny Britt, Rutgers, CB D.J. Moore, Vanderbilt, CB Sean Smith, Utah, TE John Phillips, Virginia, TE Jared Bronson, Central Washington, OT Joel Bell, Furman, OT Robert Brewster, Ball State, FB Brannan Southerland, Georgia, FB Tony Fiammetta, Syracuse
