2009 NFL Team Needs-Buffalo Bills

Offensive Tackle: Jason Peters was just recently shipped to Philadelphia, which opens up a huge hole at left tackle. Even before they lost Peters, the Bills clearly lacked depth at tackle. Look for them to address this need in the first day of the draft.

Linebacker: The Bills did not re-sign Angelo Crowell, and Keith Ellison doesn’t have the prototypical size for an outside backer. Consequently, Buffalo could take a couple linebackers in this upcoming draft.

Running back: Marshawn Lynch is going to be suspended, which leaves Fred Jackson to shoulder the load. As a result, the Bills will likely select a durable running back that can step right in and split carries with Jackson.

Tight End: With the departure of Robert Royal, Buffalo could afford to find a pass-catching tight end that can stretch the middle of the field.

Center: The center position has been a weakness for the Bills for the past several years.  After playing musical centers last season between Duke Preston and Melvin Fowler, look for Buffalo to try to find some security at center via the draft.

Draft Candidates: OT Andre Smith, Alabama, OT Michael Oher, Ole Miss, LB Brian Cushing, USC, LB Clint Sintim, Virginia, RB Glen Coffee, Alabama, RB Jarvarris Williams, Tennessee State, TE Don Pettigrew, Oklahoma State, TE Jared Cook, South Carolina, C Jon Cooper, Oklahoma, C Eric Wood, Louisville
