2009 NFL Team Needs-Denver Broncos

Defensive Tackle: The Broncos are likely going to switch to the 3-4 defensive scheme, and they currently lack a nose tackle that can be a two-gap plugger. Plus, Denver discovered last season that they lacked depth inside, which was evident in their poor run defense. Look for them to address this need very early in the draft.

Inside Linebacker: For the same reasons they need to get help on the D-line, the Broncos also could afford more depth at linebacker to fit into their new 3-4 scheme.

Safety: Denver has a huge need to address at free safety.  Last season, no matter who they plugged in at that spot, the tackling was very poor. It would be wise for them to bring some young competition to the position.

Quarterback: The Broncos traded away their franchise quarterback in Jay Cutler, and they are now faced with going into the season with Kyle Orton and Chris Simms. Orton knows how to play the position, but most don’t consider him more than just a manager of the game. Simms has been out of action for a long time, which means he is a huge question mark. They would be wise to bring in a young arm to add some depth and talent to the position.

Defensive End: Denver must grab a rush end or two at some point in the draft in order to help bolster their new 3-4 defense.

Draft Candidates: DT B.J. Raji, Boston College, DT Peria Jerry, Ole Miss, LB Rey Maualuga, USC, LB James Laurinatis, Ohio State, S Patrick Chung, Oregon, S Darcel McBath, Texas Tech, QB Josh Freeman, Kansas State, QB Graham Harrell, Texas Tech,  DE David Veikune, Hawaii, DE Pierre Walters, Eastern Illinois

Don’t root for any of the big teams. Then people will hate on you for being bandwagon guy. If you are big market and want to watch a big city team, The Giants are the way to go.

I agree with what a few of the others said. Try a local team. You are more apt to meet other people who are interested in them, and can tell you more about them. Plus it’s hard to follow a team that’s not local on tv.

I think was the first team when they were called the Chicago Staley’s and changed their name when “Poppa Bear” George Halas(the original Vince Lombardi) became their owner/coach/player.

But seriously, in a town that has gotten quite used to losing (24 years w/o a championship, longest streak of any city with four major teams) and is constantly labeled as having the worst fans in sports, you begin to EXPECT failure and irony.
