2009 NFL Team Needs-Oakland Raiders
Wide Receiver: The top wide receiver for the Raiders in 2008 had just 22 receptions. What else can be said?
Offensive Tackle: The Raiders have had issues at offensive line for most of this decade. In order for JaMarcus Russell to have any chance to succeed, he needs his O-line to give him some protection.
Quarterback: Speaking of JaMarcus Russell, the Raider nation has some doubt that he is the man for the job. They do have Jeff Garcia to back him up, but neither appear to be the long term solution. Look for the Raiders to take a flier on a quarterback at some point in the draft.
Safety: Michael Huff got benched last season, and he made end up getting traded out of town. There is a good chance that Oakland will take a safety to bring in someone that can provide some much needed competition to the position.
Defensive End: The Raiders struggled to bring pressure on defense last season. Consequently, they will be looking for a rush end that can put constant pressure on opposing quarterbacks.
Draft Candidates: WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech, WR Jeremy Maclin, Missouri, OT Eben Britton, Arizona, OT Phil Loadholt, Oklahoma, QB Pat White, West Virginia, QB Hunter Cantwell, Louisville, S David Bruton, Notre Dame, S Stephen Hodge, TCU, DE Kyle Moore, USC, DE Henry Melton, Texas
