2009 NFL Team Needs-Seattle Seahawks

Defensive Tackle: Seattle has a very undersized defense and could really afford to find a large, disruptive force.  Look for them to address the need on day one of the draft.

Cornerback: Last season, the Seahawks did not defend the pass well against teams that had taller receivers. Consequently, they have a real need to find a lengthy corner to patrol the field opposite Marcus Trufant.

Quarterback: Matt Hasselbeck is a solid quarterback when in the lineup.  However, there is real concern with his health, and how long he can hold up with the bulging disk in his back.   Seneca Wallace is a very capable backup, but he is not likely the long term answer.

Offensive Tackle: Walter Jones isn’t getting any younger, and now is the perfect time to groom his eventual replacement.

Wide Receiver: This would have been their top need had they not signed T.J. Houshmandzadeh this off-season.  They are clearly better at wideout now with that acquisition.  With that being said, Seattle still lacks depth at wideout.

Draft Candidates: DT B.J. Raji, Boston College, DT Evander Hood, Missouri, CB Sean Smith, Utah, CB Sherrod Martin, Troy, QB Mark Sanchez, USC, QB Mike Reilly, Central Washington, OT Eugene Monroe, Virginia, OT Fenuki Tupou, Oregon, WR Sammie Stoughter, Oregon State, WR Quan Cosby, Texas
