2009 NFL Team Needs-St. Louis Rams

Offensive Tackle: Orlando Pace has left town, which creates a huge need for them to find their left tackle of the future. With the second pick of the draft, they should be able to land a legitimate tackle to fill that void.

Linebacker: Will Witherspoon just doesn’t appear to be big enough, nor physical enough to play middle linebacker. They will likely move Witherspoon to his natural weakside position and select an inside linebacker in the draft.

Wide Receiver: The Rams just lost a legend in Torry Holt as he just recently signed with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Whomever they draft at wideout will have huge shoes to fill.

Center: St. Louis has lacked size and durability at center for several years now. Look for them to take a center at some point in this draft.

Running back: Steven Jackson is starting to appear injury-prone as he has missed eight games over the last two seasons. Brian Leonard is more than serviceable backup, but they could still afford to add some quality depth at the position.

Draft Candidates: OT Jason Smith, Baylor, OT Eugene Monroe, Virginia, LB Darry Beckwith, LSU, LB Dannell Ellerbe, Georgia, WR Michael Crabtree, Texas Tech, WR Marko Mitchell, Nevada, C Jonathan Luigs, Arkansas, C Edwin Williams, Maryland, RB Rashad Jennings, Liberty, RB P.J. Hill, Wisconsin
