QB Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers

2009 Stats: 4328 passing yards, 28 total TDs, 12 INTs
Projected 2010 Stats: 3653 passing yards, 23 total TDs, 16 INTs
Projected Fantasy Round: 4th Round
Quarterbacks to be picked ahead of Ben Roethlisberger: Peyton  Manning, Drew Brees, Phillip Rivers, etc.

Fantasy Outlook:

Why you should draft Ben Roethlisberger: Over the last three seasons, Roethlisberger averaged 3,594 passing yards and 27 total touchdowns.  In 2009, Big Ben was able to amass over 300 passing yards in five contests, which included games of 417 and 503 yards.

Why you may want to stay away from drafting Ben Roethlisberger:  Roethlisberger has been a star on the field, but he has not shined off of the field.   The latest incident could have him facing a team or league suspension even though he was not charged with a crime.   He also lost one of his favorite targets in Santonio Holmes when he was recently traded to the New York Jets.

Bottom Line:  Even with Roethlisberger’s off-the-field issues, he should still be viewed as an upper tier, No. 1 fantasy quarterback.  He would be an excellent value in the middle rounds.
