Ask DR U: Are They Worth Keeping?

Bill asks, I am in a keeper league that allows three keepers, but each keeper costs a draft pick, two rounds higher than the previous year.  Who should I keep from the players below?

Joseph Addai (will cost my round 3 pick)
Carson Palmer (will cost my round 8 pick)
Willis McGahee (will cost my round 9 pick)
Maurice Jones-Drew (will cost my round 11 pick)

DR U: I subscribe to the idea that the one of the keys to winning leagues is finding the best players possible for the best values possible.  All four of the players that you have are at an outstanding value.  Let’s pretend for a moment that this was not a keeper league, would you draft Addai in the 3rd round?  Would you draft Palmer in the 8th round?  Would you draft McGahee in the 9th round?  Would you draft Jones-Drew in the 11th round?

The answer for me is that I would draft all four of those players in a heartbeat in the aforementioned rounds.  Therefore, I could make an argument to keep all four players.  I have Jones-Drew as the 4th best fantasy player for this upcoming season, Addai 8th, McGahee 14th, and Palmer as the 17th overall fantasy player for 2007.

However, I know that you can only keep three, so I think Palmer and Jones-Drew are at too good of a price, and they will put up too high of numbers to drop.  Even though I think McGahee will do well in Baltimore, I still think Addai is a must-have fantasy player.  Therefore, I would recommend keeping Palmer, Jones-Drew, and Addai.  Not to mention, there is a respectable chance that you could still land McGahee again with your first round pick, and then you would have all four players on your squad once again.

Who should I start week 12 @ Quarterback?
Week 11 I was knocked out of 1 st place because of Peyton’s performance. I have not started another Quarterback all season but our leauge is very close at the top and I can not afford to slip another spot. I have Kurt Warner on my bench and they play SF this week. Should I sit Peyton and start Warner this week?
