More NFL Games Played Outside the U.S.?
The NFL is considering playing two regular season games outside of the United States. This proposal, if approved, is slated to begin in 2008 in Mexico, Canada, Germany, and/or the United Kingdom. There are also plans in place to expand NFL Europe from six to eight teams by 2010. They would then switch to a format consisting of two divisions of four teams and would play 12 game seasons (season currently 10 games). These changes are designed to help increase the popularity of the NFL globally.
