NFL Team Needs-Tampa Bay Buccaneers

2008 Tampa Bay Buccaneers Team Needs

Defensive Tackle: The Bucs defense was stingy against the pass, but they were generous against the run.  Jovan Haye has been a pleasant surprise, but look for Tampa Bay to utilize the draft to provide him with some help on the interior.

Wide Receiver: Joey Galloway and Ike Hilliard are past their prime, but to be fair, Galloway doesn’t play like it.  Tampa Bay signed Antonio Bryant during the off-season, which could turn out to be a nice addition if he can be on his best behavior.  With that being said, the Buccaneers still could benefit by finding a dynamic young receiver in the draft.

Center: The Bucs signed Jeff Faine, which figures to be a terrific acquisition.  However, Tampa Bay doesn’t have a viable backup for him.  Look for them to draft a center to add some much need depth.

Cornerback: Ronde Barber has been in the league a double digit amount of years, which means it might be a good time to start looking for his eventual replacement. Furthermore, Brian Kelly left town, which leaves a hole to fill in the secondary.

Draft Candidates: DT Kentwan Balmer, North Carolina, DT Pat Sims, Auburn, WR Mario Manningham, Michigan, WR Andre Caldwell, Florida, C John Sullivan, Notre Dame, C Fernando Velasco, Georgia, CB Antoine Cason, Arizona, CB Trae Williams, South Florida
