Terrell Owens Tell All Book
Terrell Owens just released a book that tells his version of events that transpired when he was with the Philadelphia Eagles. T.O. describes Donovan McNabb as jealous and a weak leader. Owens talks about a play where McNabb refused to throw him the ball even though the play was designed to go to him, and he was open. He claims he just told McNabb in the huddle that he was open and politely asked him why he did not throw him the ball. According to Owens, McNabb responded to that question with some choice words. This book comes out right on the heels of training camp, and with T.O. airing out some dirty laundry about his prior team, you can bet that many of his new teammates in Dallas will keep their distance to avoid making it into his next book. I think that Owens would get more respect with fans and teammates if he would just let his play on the field tell his story rather than him bashing other players to sell books in what he somehow feels is a biography.

Fantasy Football Player Profile-Ben Roethlisberger
QB Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh Steelers
2005 Stats: 2385 passing yards, 20 total TDs, 9 INTs
Projected 2006 Stats: 2399 passing yards, 18 total TDs, 12 INTs
Projected Fantasy Round: 5th round
Quarterbacks to be Picked ahead of Ben Roethlisberger: Peyton Manning, Carson Palmer, Matt Hasselbeck, Tom Brady, etc.
Fantasy Outlook:
Why should you draft Ben Roethlisberger: Roethlisberger is one of the most promising young quarterbacks in the NFL. He is a great manager of the game, and one of his major strengths is taking care of the football. So far in his short career, he has thrown 34 touchdowns versus only 20 interceptions. More impressive than that, he has only coughed up the football four times in two seasons. Roethlisberger was terrific in the postseason last year, being responsible for nine touchdowns, throwing for 803 yards, and had an eye popping 101.7 QB rating. Counting the postseason, Big Ben in 2005 had nine games where he threw for multiple touchdowns.
Why you may want to stay away from drafting Ben Roethlisberger:
Roethlisberger was in a serious motorcycle accident this offseason where he sustained significant face and head injuries. He may not have to miss any games, but this accident could cause him to be a little more nervous in the pocket. In his two year career, he is averaging just 2503 passing yards and has been sacked over 26 times per season. He also has missed six games in his short career. Last season, including the Super Bowl, Roethlisberger threw multiple interceptions in four games.
Bottom Line: Due to the motorcycle accident, it might be wise to use
caution when drafting Roethlisberger. However, I expect him to be able to physically recover from the accident, and he should be a great value pick this year. If he slides to the later rounds, he would be a smart choice to help your fantasy team. However, with the Steelers having a run first mentality, it would be wise to use Roethlisberger as a second string quarterback in fantasy.

What Rookies Will Make an Impact?
The 2006 NFL season is just months away, and there is not much happening in the news. I could devote an article on Jay Fielder signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but there isn’t anyone that really cares about that move. So I decided to focus on the 2006 NFL rookies. Most people expect Reggie Bush to have a great year, but who else will step up? Here are the rookies that I think will make the biggest impact this year:
1. Chad Jackson, New England Patriots
2. Joseph Addai, Indianapolis Colts
3. DeAngelo Williams, Carolina Panthers
4. Mario Williams, Houston Texans
5. Michael Huff, Oakland Raiders
If you would like further analysis on this rookie class, I would suggest stepping Out of Bounds.
