2008 Kansas City Team Needs

Offensive Tackle: The Chiefs really need to improve their entire offensive line.  The glaring need is at right tackle.  It is conceivable that Kansas City could take two tackles with their first four picks.

Cornerback: Ty Law is no longer a Chief, and Patrick Surtain is starting to get long in the tooth.  Much like with offensive linemen, Kansas City could invest multiple picks to attempt to improve their secondary.

Wide Receiver: The Chiefs finally parted ways with Eddie Kennison as he just could not stay healthy. Kansas City signed Devard Darling, which could end up being a very solid signing.  However, they will still need to look to the draft to try and find a solid No.2 to lineup opposite Dwayne Bowe.

Quarterback: The Chiefs are a little leery to claim that Brodie Croyle is the future.  If Kansas City wants to get back to their winning ways, they need to solve their question marks at quarterback.  Look for them to select a signal caller at some point in the draft.

Draft Candidates: OT Chris Williams, Vanderbilt, OT Jeff Otah, Pittsburgh, CB Darnell Terrell, Missouri, CB Reggie Corner, Akron, WR Jerome Simpson, Coastal Carolina, WR Will Franklin, Missouri, QB Joe Flacco, Delaware, QB Anthony Morelli, Penn State

2008 Denver Broncos Team Needs

Defensive Tackle: The Broncos are pleased with their 2007 fourth round pick Marcus Thomas.  However, the rest of the interior defense is mediocre, at best.  Look for Denver to utilize a couple picks to help improve their run defense.

Wide Receiver: Brandon Marshall injured his arm this off-season, and he may have to miss some of training camp.  Javon Walker was supposed to be the playmaker for Denver, but he has signed with the Raiders.  The Broncos did just sign Keary Colbert, and they still have Brandon Stokley and Taylor Jacobs.  Bottom line, they do have some depth, but not a clear No.1 receiver now that Walker has left town and Marshall is not exactly on good terms with the team, nor healthy.  Denver will likely add a young receiver to create some competition at the position.

Linebacker: Denver has been solid at the linebacker position for several years, but that did not seem to be the case in 2007.  The unit looked out of place and struggled to make routine plays.  The Broncos did bring in Boss Bailey, but look for them to go after more talent at linebacker in the upcoming draft.

Safety: John Lynch is likely playing his final season, and Nick Ferguson has opted to enter free agency.  The Broncos did sign Marquand Manuel, which could end up being a very underrated acquisition.   However, it is clear that the Broncos must get much younger at the safety position.

Draft Candidates: DT Dre Moore, Maryland, DT Pat Sims, Auburn, WR DeSean Jackson, California, WR Eddie Royal, Virginia Tech, LB Keith Rivers, USC, LB Beau Bell, UNLV, S Nathan Lyles, Virginia, S Derrick Doggett, Oregon State

NFL Team Needs-Tennessee Titans »

2008 Tennessee Titans Team Needs

Wide Receiver: Roydell Williams appears to have earned the right to start at wideout in 2008, but he has not exactly been a model of consistency.  Speaking of consistency, the Titans did re-sign Justin Gage, and they also inked a deal with Justin McCareins.  Tennessee clearly needs to look to the draft in hopes to land a receiver that can be a reliable playmaker for Vince Young.

Cornerback: The Titans are likely going to trade Pacman Jones, which is a significant loss when you consider how well he plays when he is allowed to be on the field.  With that being said, Nick Harper and Cortland Finnegan played solid last season. However, with Tennessee being in pass-happy division, there is no such thing as too much depth at corner.

Defensive Tackle: Albert Haynesworth has emerged as one of the best, if not the best, defensive tackles in the NFL.  However, the rest of the interior linemen on the team aren’t exactly anything to write home about.  Tony Brown played well as he was rewarded by Haynesworth drawing all the attention of opposing offenses away from him.  The Titans will likely look to add talent and depth at the position via the draft.

Guard: Tennessee did sign Jake Scott, which is a key addition.   However, Benji Olson retired, and Jacob Bell is testing free agency.  It would not come a surprise if the Titans opted to use the draft to add some depth at Guard.

Draft Candidates: WR Limas Sweed, Texas, WR Malcolm Kelly, Oklahoma, CB Reggie Smith, Oklahoma, CB Charles Godfrey, Iowa, DT Marcus Harrison, Arkansas, Chris Ellis, Virginia Tech, G Mike McGlynn, Pittsburgh, G Eric Young, Tennessee

NFL Team Needs-Jacksonville Jaguars »

2008 Jacksonville Jaguars Team Needs

Wide Receiver: The Jaguars just signed quarterback David Garrard to a big contract extension.  The club will now need to focus on bringing in some receivers to help Garrard and their offense succeed.   Reggie Williams had a respectable 2007 season, but the rest of the wideouts were nowhere near as productive.  Jacksonville did bring in Troy Williamson, but similar to Matt Jones, he has never lived up to his potential.  The Jags will look to the draft to land a receiver that can consistently catch the ball.

Safety: Sammy Knight has left town, which leaves an opening in their secondary that needs filled.  Reggie Nelson seemed overwhelmed last season, which may lead to him being moved to corner.  Consequently, the Jaguars will likely draft a strong safety to compete for the starting job.

Defensive End: The Jaguars already have talent and depth at defensive end. However, they have had difficulties with players being unable to stay healthy at the position.  Therefore, Jacksonville could afford to try and upgrade to land a durable rush end that has the ability to generate constant pressure on opposing quarterbacks.

Tight End: Marcedes Lewis has the talent to be a perennial pro bowler, but he has never played well enough to earn the free vacation to Hawaii.  George Wrightster and Greg Estandia are serviceable tight ends that can block, but the Jaguars would benefit from finding a pass catching tight end via the draft.

Draft Candidates: WR Devin Thomas, Michigan State, WR Early Doucet, LSU, S Charles Godfrey, Iowa, S D.J. Wolfe, Oklahoma, DE Derrick Harvey, Florida, DE Quentin Groves, Auburn, TE Martellus Bennett, Texas A&M, TE Brad Cottam, Tennessee

NFL Team Needs-Indianapolis Colts »

2008 Indianapolis Colts Team Needs

Defensive End: Dwight Freeney suffered a serious foot injury last season.  Consequently, the pass rush of the Colts was virtually non-existent.  The Tony Dungy Tampa-2 defense is predicated upon manufacturing a consistent pass rush.  Look for the Colts to add some depth at the position via the draft.

Linebacker: Gary Brackett does not look like a prototypical middle linebacker, but he does play like one.  However, it might be wise for the Colts to bring in a much bigger and more physical middle linebacker to be able to take on some offensive linemen. Brackett figures to be the starter, but look for Indianapolis to add some depth at linebacker.

Wide Receiver: Marvin Harrison proved he was not invincible in 2007 as he was injured for a large portion of the season.  Reggie Wayne is a solid No.1 receiver, and Anthony Gonzalez proved he can be a reliable deep threat.  However, the rest of the wideouts are average, at best. Look for the Colts to add a possession receiver to add some insurance for the aging Harrison.

Offensive Tackle: Tarik Glenn retired before last season, and rookie Tony Ugoh stepped in like he was a veteran.  However, when Ugoh got hurt in the middle of 2007, it was clear that Indianapolis lacked depth at tackle.  Look for them to fix that this year.

Draft Candidates: DE Cliff Avril, Purdue, DE Marcus Howard, Georgia, LB Lamar Myles, Louisville, LB Jameel McClain, Syracuse, WR  Mario Manningham, Michigan, WR Earl Bennett, Vanderbilt, OT Tony Hills, Texas, OT Carl Nicks, Nebraska
