RECOMMENDED, NOT RECOMMENDED-Week 7

QUARTERBACKS-RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Eli Manning, New York Giants Vs Denver Broncos

Over the last three games, Manning has seven touchdown passes versus only one interception. He is also averaging nearly 288 passing yards in those three contests. The Broncos pass defense has given up 299 yards to Tom Brady and 322 yards to Mark Brunell in their last two games.

Eli’s blood test shows that he comes from a great bloodline when it comes to quarterbacks, and this week Eli will be the more effective Manning.

Drew Bledsoe, Dallas Cowboys at Seattle Seahawks

In his last four games, Bledsoe is averaging a humble 294 yards and 1.75 touchdown passes per game. Seattle plays respectable defense, but they do have holes in their secondary. However, it takes a solid passing quarterback to find and exploit their weaknesses, ala Mark Bulger throwing for 336 yards against the Seahawks secondary in Week 5. Bledsoe is a superior passing quarterback and should have a solid week.

The doc says….Starting Bledsoe each Sunday keeps your fantasy opponents away.

QUARTERBACKS-NOT RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Drew Brees, San Diego Chargers at Philadelphia Eagles

Over his last two games, Brees is averaging a lackluster 191.5 yards passing per game. Philly is coming off a bye week and were beat down by the Dallas Cowboys the week prior. In other words, the Eagles will be entering the game with a huge chip on their shoulder, and Brees might not make it out of Philadelphia in one piece.

Brees is not off to a healthy start this season and their will not be any progress this week.

RUNNINGBACKS-RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Edgerrin James, Indianapolis Colts at Houston Texans

James is flirting with 115 yards per game in his last five. In that stint, he also has six total touchdowns. Who cares about the stats of the Texans defense? They won’t stop Edge!

James will perform arthroscopic surgery on the Texans run defense.

Steven Jackson, St. Louis Rams Vs New Orleans Saints

Jackson has at least one touchdown in his last three games. Warrick Dunn rushed for 100 yards and one touchdown last week against the Saints. Look for similar numbers from Jackson this week.

When Jackson looks at the eye chart, the letters that he sees are TD, and this week we should see a TD from him.

RUNNINGBACKS-NOT RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Jamal Lewis, Baltimore Ravens at Chicago Bears

Lewis has not eclipsed the 100 yard barrier yet this season. He also only has one touchdown all year. This week, he will have to face a very stingy Bears defense. Like a homeowner that has lived in the same house for 30 years, the Bears are unwilling to give up any real estate. Enough said!

Lewis should call in sick this week on your fantasy team, because you could probably get by just fine without him.

WIDE RECEIVERS-RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Plaxico Burress, New York Giants Vs Denver Broncos

In Week 4, Burress had 10 catches for 204 yards and two touchdowns. This season, the Broncos defense have had four receivers post 100 yards receiving games against them. Burress will make it five.

When Burress gets his 100 yards receiving this week, take my stethoscope, and tell people you heard the news from DR U.

Nate Burelson, Minnesota Vikings Vs Green Bay Packers

Burleson has been injured. The Vikings pride has been injured. This week, Burleson is back and Culpepper will be thankful.

DR U has deemed Burelson healthy and prescribes him to be in your starting lineup.

WIDE RECEIVERS-NOT RECOMMENDED BY DR U

Ashley Lelie, Denver Broncos at New York Giants

This season, Lelie is averaging under 33 yards per game. He has three games where he only has one reception. In other words, he does not merit any fantasy considertion at this time.

The doc is out. I think you can write out your own prescription on whether to start Lelie or not.

POSSIBLE FREE AGENTS-PRESCRIBED BY DR U

WR Brandon Jones, Tenessee Titans

Drew Bennett will be missing in action and Tyrone Calico’s stats are missing in action.

In other words, Jones is now the No. 1 wideout in Tennessee now.

WR Peerless Price, Dallas Cowboys

No. 3 WR Patrick Crayton will have to miss significant time with an ankle injury. Now is time to see if the price was right for Dallas to pick up Price. Price figures to get his share of touches with his former quarterback, Drew Bledsoe throwing the ball.
