2008 Tennessee Titans Team Needs

Wide Receiver: Roydell Williams appears to have earned the right to start at wideout in 2008, but he has not exactly been a model of consistency.  Speaking of consistency, the Titans did re-sign Justin Gage, and they also inked a deal with Justin McCareins.  Tennessee clearly needs to look to the draft in hopes to land a receiver that can be a reliable playmaker for Vince Young.

Cornerback: The Titans are likely going to trade Pacman Jones, which is a significant loss when you consider how well he plays when he is allowed to be on the field.  With that being said, Nick Harper and Cortland Finnegan played solid last season. However, with Tennessee being in pass-happy division, there is no such thing as too much depth at corner.

Defensive Tackle: Albert Haynesworth has emerged as one of the best, if not the best, defensive tackles in the NFL.  However, the rest of the interior linemen on the team aren’t exactly anything to write home about.  Tony Brown played well as he was rewarded by Haynesworth drawing all the attention of opposing offenses away from him.  The Titans will likely look to add talent and depth at the position via the draft.

Guard: Tennessee did sign Jake Scott, which is a key addition.   However, Benji Olson retired, and Jacob Bell is testing free agency.  It would not come a surprise if the Titans opted to use the draft to add some depth at Guard.

TE Alge Crumpler, Tennessee Titans

How Alge Crumpler will help the Tennessee Titans: Crumpler gives Vince Young a reliable downfield target.  Crumpler uses his body well and is able to make catches in traffic.  Since Young is trying to become more of a passer than a runner, Crumpler will be a nice outlet when the pocket is collapsing and the other receivers are covered.

Crumpler is also a great blocker, and he should be able to create more holes to improve the running game for the Titans.  Since 2003, Crumpler has had over 40 receptions in every season and had at least 400 receiving yards.

Fantasy Outlook: If Crumpler can rebound from a knee injury and be healthy in 2008, he can be penciled in for at least 700 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
