Top 10 All-Time Super Bowl Quarterbacks
Tom Brady is getting ready to play in another Super Bowl, but how should he be ranked against the other premier Super Bowl signal callers?
Here is my Top 10:
1. Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers-Montana was 4-0 in Super Bowls and threw 11 TDs and no interceptions.
2. Terry Bradshaw, Pittsburgh Steelers-Bradshaw was 4-0 in Super Bowls, and he had nine touchdown passes.
3. Tom Brady, New England Patriots-Brady is just currently renting this third spot, but when it is all said and done, he could be at the top.
4. Troy Aikman, Dallas Cowboys-Aikman was 3-0 in Super Bowls, and he torched the Buffalo Bills by throwing 4 TDs in his Super Bowl debut.
5. John Elway, Denver Broncos-Elway started in an eye-popping five Super Bowls, but the fact that he was only to be able to lead his team to two victories leaves him a little lower than where he could have been on this list.
6. Roger Staubach, Dallas Cowboys-Similar to Elway, Staubach was unable to win all of his Super Bowl appearances, but he did lead the Cowboys to two victories in four appearences.
7. Brett Favre, Green Bay Packers-Favre played in two Super Bowls and led his Packers to one victory.
8. Steve Young, San Francisco 49ers-Young only appeared in one Super Bowl, but his six touchdown passes in that game makes the argument that I might have him underrated on this list.
9. Doug Williams, Washington Redskins-Williams passed for 340 yards and 4 TDs in his only Super Bowl.
10. Phil Simms, New York Giants-Simms completed 25 of 28 passes and threw 3 TDs in his only Super Bowl.

I’m trying to find out the number of unique QB’s that have won the Super Bowl. For example: Here are 3 individual ones even though they won multiple Super Bowls.

That’s crap elway lost his first three super bowls because he played on a average Denver team he is the best quarterback ever he led a decent Denver team to three super bowls he was the only great player on those teams besides Floyd little the reason he got 2 super bowl wins is because he finally had other good players on his team

The fact that Kurt Warner, owner of the three most prolific passing Super Bowl performances of all time, does not appear on this list instantly renders it null and void.

I totally agree with the comment by GPS. How can Warner not be rated as one of the top Superbowl Quarterbacks ever?

Someone I was talking to just told me that Steve Young was one of the most athletic Quarterbacks of all time. Would you agree with this?

All of them except the ‘fly in the buttermilk’ Doug Williams.

You’re giving Terry Bradshaw the crown on a tie-breaker for the immaculate reception? Let me get this straight…he gets credit for a pass in a playoff game (not a Super Bowl) which should have been picked off, was questionably scooped from the turf, and was willed into the end zone by Franco Harris?
Sorry, but for Super Bowls, Montana was THE top of the pile (11 TDs, 0 Ints – as noted above). And if you want to bring famous plays into the equation, I will counter with “The Catch”, which was a much better QB play.
