Tough Brake for the Washington Redskins
Washington Redskins quarterback Mark Brunell sustained a broken index finger on his throwing hand. Brunell was hurt in one of the off-season workouts, and it is questionable whether or not he will be ready in time for the start of minicamp, which opens on June 16th. However, he is expected to at least be ready by the start of training camp in July. The health of Brunell has to be a concern going into this season as he is 35 years old and not exactly getting any younger. The Skins will hope he can remain healthy enough so they can rely on his experience. Brunell is coming off a season where he threw for 23 touchdowns versus only 10 interceptions, not to mention leading the Redskins to the post season. If Brunell goes down, Washington would have to call on Jason Campbell or Todd Collins to try and fill his shoes. In other words, if Brunell get hurt, the Redskins season will be broken.
