Watch Out American Idol, Here Comes the NFL Combine

The 2007 NFL Combine has now begun, and there are no shortage of cameras to cover the event.  The NFL Network has televised the workouts for the last few years, and there is talk that in the very near future they will open up the RCA Dome for fans to sit in the stadium to watch the workouts.

I think the NFL could capitalize on this and shoot a reality show starring some random fans in the stadium.  The show would chronicle how the fans behave as if they are the general managers of their respective favorite team.

Who needs Mel Kiper a.k.a. "NFL Draft Expert" when you can hear which players will be stars at the next level from the perspective of an average fan?

The entertainment of hearing how good a player is going to be based solely on his 40 time is must-see TV.  A fan gets voted off the show each time they glorify a player that did not run a time below 4.5.   The winner of the new reality show will be the fan that brings his or her notebook to the stadium and is able to rattle off all of the individual times. Perhaps, Simon would even be willing to be a judge for the show.
