Key Injuries
The Doc would like to report two key casualties this week. Green Bay Packers RB Ahman Green and Detroit Lions WR Kevin Johnson have been placed on Injured Reserve and will both be on the shelf for the rest of the year. Below is the long laundry list of other key injuries .
RB Corey Dillion-New England Patriots-QUESTIONABLE (ankle)-Dillion will be a gametime decision. The Doc would tell you more, but Coach Belichick does not want fantasy owners to have time to prepare.
QB Tom Brady-New England Patriots-PROBABLE (shoulder)-He will start!
RB Thomas Jones-Chicago Bears-PROBABLE (knee)- Thomas Jones was actually injured back in Week 5. He played last week and should be able to tough it out this week as well.
RB Rudi Johnson-Cincinnati Bengals-PROBABLE (knee)-Rudi is practicing and should be good-to-go.
RB Julius Jones-Dallas Cowboys-QUESTIONABLE (ankle)-Julius has not been able to make it through a full practice and Dallas has a Bye in Week 9. J Squared will likely miss his third straight game.
QB Jake Plummer-Denver Broncos-PROBABLE (shoulder)-Plummer has been practicing all week. In other words, Jake "the snake" will slither his way into his normal starting role.
RB Fred Taylor-Jacksonville Jaguars-PROBABLE (ankle)-Taylor has proclaimed himself to be the starter this week.
WR Joe Horn-New Orleans Saints-QUESTIONABLE (hamstring)-This is another gametime decision. Saints are thin at receiver. Therefore, Horn might try to play.
WR Plaxico Burress-New York Giants-QUESTIONABLE (shoulder)-Burress has been held out of parts of practice this week. He wants to play, but this is a player you will want to monitor as the week progresses.
WR Randy Moss-Oakland Raiders-QUESTIONABLE (groin)-The Doc refuses to research the status of Moss. In Week 7, he was declared out moments before kickoff. Next thing you know, he was catching a touchdown pass. Moss should find a way to play.
QB Donovan McNabb-Philadelphia Eagles-PROBABLE(sports hernia)-McNabb is another player the Doc is refusing to research. McNabb would play whether his arms were broken, or if he was comatose. He will start!
WR Terrell Owens-Philadelphia Eagles-PROBABLE (shoulder)-Is T.O. really hurt or is he just finding a way to get his name in the paper? In all seriousness, Owens should make the start.
WR Hines Ward-Pittsburgh Steelers-PROBABLE (hamstring)-Ward has been practicing and should be just fine.
PK Nate Kaeding-Sand Diego Chargers-QUESTIONABLE (back)-This is a tough kicker from Iowa, all signs point to him being able to play.
QB Marc Bulger-St. Louis Rams-DOUBTFUL (shoulder)-Bulger was recently downgraded to doubtfull this week and is not expected to play.
WR Isaac Bruce-St Louis Rams-DOUBTFUL (toe)-Bruce’s report mirrors Bulger’s and the tandem are expected to be inactive.
RB Carnell Williams-Tampa Bay Buccaneers- QUESTIONABLE (foot/hamstring)-If Williams has any say in this, the wheels of the Cadillac should go round-and-round this week. Although, at this point, he is listed as a gametime decision.

Hi Doc,
How does the injuries to Ray Lewis and Ed Reed affect my lineup? I have both Ward and Randle-El. Should I start Randle-El over Donte Stallworth? Or will the Steelers continue to run, especially with Lewis out?

The doc was out of the office when you posted your comment. Sorry to respond after the game. Please feel free to ask the doc any fantasy questions, and the doc will do his best to respond more timely. Keep an eye on the doc’s possible free agents if you are needing a player to give your team a boost. Fyi: It might be wise to keep Randle El on the pine until he starts producing. “Big Ben” likes to throw to WR Hines Ward and TE Heath Miller. Therefore, Randel El gets a little lost in the shuffle.
